  • Our hotel teams are receiving ongoing briefings and enhanced operating protocols.
  • We have increased the frequency of cleaning our public areas (including lobbies, elevators, door handles, public bathrooms, etc.)
  • We have increased the deployment of antibacterial hand sanitizers.
  • We will continue to adjust food and beverage services in accordance with current food safety recommendations.

We encourage guests to do:

  • Wash hands frequently and use a paper towel to dry.
  • Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay at home when sick.
  • Cough or sneeze into the bend of elbow or into a tissue, then throw it away immediately.
  • Greet with a smile instead of a handshake or a hug.

Q & A on Covid-19

7th of March, 2020

We at Icelandair Hotels follow developments concerning the COVID-19 outbreak closely and maintain regular contact with the Chief Epidemiologist and the Icelandic Directorate of Health to follow their guidance and instructions at any given time.

The National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police and Chief Epidemiologist have raised the alert level of the response to the COVID-19 virus outbreak. This emergency activation has no significant impact on the public beyond those measures already taken. No travel restrictions are in force.

Iceland is committed to keeping its residents and visitors as informed and prepared as possible. Given the small population of Iceland, this is easily achieved. Icelandic authorities have taken preventive steps to contain the potential spread of the COVID-19 virus in the country. As Iceland has few entry points and the lowest population density in Europe, the country has been able to move swiftly to identify, communicate with and, where necessary, quarantine Icelandic residents traveling from high-risk areas.(Italy, Iran, China, South-Korea and Ischgl ski resort in Austria)

We encourage you to read the guidelines of the Icelandic Directorate of Health should you have any questions or concerns regarding the safety of traveling to Iceland. We wish you welcome to Iceland and hope that you will have a safe and pleasant stay.
