We introduce Yan Pascal Tortelier, who was the principal conductor of the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra 2016 - 2019. Yan Pascal Tortelier enjoys a distinguished career as guest conductor of the world's most prestigious orchestras. 

Being the well-traveled man that he is, we thought it to be perfect to get his perspective on Reykjavik.

Gréta Gunnarsdóttir

Ambassador Gréta Gunnarsdóttir, born and raised in Reykjavík has been in the Icelandic Foreign Service since 1988.   She represented Iceland as  Ambassador in Vienna and as Ambassador to the United Nations in New York.  She spent many years in Brussels both at the Icelandic Mission to the EU as well as a member of the International Staff of NATO in the Political Department.  She also spent a couple of years working for UNRWA (the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees) in Jerusalem.   Greta is currently residing in Warsaw where she is the Head of the Director‘s Office /Senior Political Adviser to the Director of the OSCE Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODHIR).    Having lived in many countries and cities around the world, Gréta has a very international outlook and experience.  She enjoys introducing Reykjavik to foreign friends and is at times herself amazed at how much of a city Reykavík is despite its size.
